I originally met Kelly and James quite some time ago whilst photographing Gemma and Andrew's wedding day at Drayton Manor Hotel. After seeing me at work it was great to then hear from them again when they asked if I was available for their upcoming wedding at Fairlawns Hotel and Spa in Aldridge, Walsall. Luckily I was still free on their chosen day, and so they booked themselves onto my 2017 wedding calendar.
It's particularly nice when friends and family of previous couples go on to book me for their wedding day too, as I get another chance to meet, catch up, and photograph people I've spent time with before.
Kelly and James' wedding is only a couple of months away, so we visited Fairlawns Hotel together to chose their favourite locations in the venue's grounds, discuss their ceremony and the best way for me to capture it for them, as well as chatting about their plans for the celebrations. After we'd finished it was time for a spot of practicing in front of the camera. With the sun shining and birds singing it was a lovely and relaxed shoot, with the bonus that we are now extra-prepared to capture their big day when it's time.
Here's hoping the blue skies and sunshine make yet another appearance for us whilst they exchange their vows and celebrate surrounded by their friends and family.
