A vibrant windswept winter engagement photo shoot in Digbeth
January 2020 Filed in: Pre-wedding Shoots
“We wanna be married. Let’s be married.” This is Laura and Adam’s philosophy regarding wedding planning, and I liked it so much that I wrote it down. On a pre-shoot we always get together for a chat over a coffee or beer before we head out with the cameras, and I take along an exercise book to make notes. Laura, being a teacher, appreciated this!
Laura and Adam decided to get married in December 2019, and have planned their wedding (for February 2020!) in a matter of weeks, carrying through with that philosophy. It’s not the first time we’ve met them: we photographed the wedding of Laura’s sister Rachel last summer. You can’t get recommendations better than that!
It’ll be a real treat to see a lot of the people that were there again, and to make some new friends! This time we’re going to be in Coventry’s stunning Cheylesmore Manor, which has special significance as Adam’s parents got married there as well. Afterwards, we’re planning to get some portraits at Coventry’s historic old cathedral too, if time and circumstances allow. In the evening we’ve got the excellent band Soul Train to look forward to - Phil and I have photographed weddings where they’ve performed before, so we know we’re in for a treat. I definitely will be joining in on the dance floor!
For our pre-shoot we were in Digbeth with some blue skies and sunshine; there was even a rainbow! Even more colourful was the street art that makes Digbeth such an iconic location, with its ever-changing backdrops.
Although the wind was cold that day, all you get from these pictures is warmth from the two genuinely lovely people that are in them. We hope you enjoy this selection, and it won’t be very long to wait until we’ve got some wedding pictures to share with you too!
