"Hello my lovelies! I’m Toby - originally from Cheltenham, but I moved to Wolverhampton where for many years I worked as a dentist! However, it got to the stage where I’d seen one molar too many, and I became an official part of The Dignums’ photography duo.
I’m the cat person in the relationship. Our cat Fatwans is grumpy, standoffish, quite bitey, and I love her dearly. She comes on little walks with me, trotting at my heels in the field in front of our house, until she decides she’s had enough, and refuses to budge any further. I respect her for that. She even has her own website, just Google "Fatwans" and she'll be the top hit.
What do I get up to in my spare time? I indulge my passion: games and quizzes in the pub! Our local has got used to the sight of a bunch of us playing Quirkle, The Resistance, Bananagrams, or even old-fashioned Solo Whist over a few beers. Most Sunday evenings we take part in the quiz; every week thinking of a new and usually slightly risqué team name. Sometimes I even get to host the quiz myself!
I’m a science nerd, and love my gadgets and tech. We’ve got some cool gear we can bring to your wedding: off-camera flash for sprucing up the speeches and some awesome dance floor shots, and even a PixelStick for some really cool light painting in the evening, if there’s the chance. I’m really interested in long exposures at night, and astro-photography, and will happily give you a tour of the night sky, and point out and explain why my favourite star is Betelgeuse.
My music taste is electronic and a little bit weird, with plenty of bleeps and bloops thrown in. It’s great discovering new stuff on Spotify, and if I had to choose between our TV and Sonos system, the telly would be in a skip before you could say “Florence And The Machine”. (I have no idea why Phil enjoys them. I’m pretty sure Florence’s voice can only be truly appreciated by cats, dogs, and bats). If I do sit down to watch a movie or some TV I enjoy sci-fi the most, with the odd guilty pleasure of a disaster movie. I'm partial to Sherlock and Doctor Who. No horror though, not unless you want to hear my high pitch screams.
Work wise, when I'm not photographing weddings with Phil then you can find me leading wedding ceremonies as part of my role at a local register office.
