Phil and Toby blended perfectly into our wedding. If you would have asked Jon and I previously how we felt about having our photos taken, you would have got a grunt and a eye roll from the both of us.

John is very keen for me to let you know that he really wants another sweaty hug off you both, however he would appreciate it if you provided some more sweat yourselves in the future (his words not mine). Seriously we can’t thank you enough.

To have The Dignums photograph our wedding was the best decision we made, they are patient, caring, passionate and love getting the guests involved.

I wanted photographers that would fit with our wedding and would be nice to have around. We had loads of comments on how nice they both were from guests which says a lot in itself.

We're not the boss of you!
Above all we want you to have fun on your wedding day. We want you to have an amazing time, and to capture and share that awesomeness with you. We specialise in relaxed, laid-back wedding days, with couples who don't want to be bossed around, and don't pay much attention to things like chair cover colours, or how anyone else does weddings. If you plan to throw out the rule book on your wedding day we'll help you lob it that bit further! Full disclosure: we can't actually throw for sh*t, it's one of the few ways we adhere to our stereotype.
Our style is candid and genuine. It's not about manufacturing and recreating posed photos seen at others' weddings and events, but about capturing the brilliance of the people and relationships in front of our cameras, whilst letting the fun flow. If you're looking for a photography duo to capture and document your wedding as naturally as possible, without asking people to pose or smile; then we're your guys. We like to blend in and have fun with your guests, and then the great shots just happen! Guests always say it felt like we were just another couple of mates who’d been invited to the wedding who just happened to have some state of the art camera equipment.
Every wedding day gets the benefit of both of us. Being a photography duo, we both bring something to the plate. Own own unique spin, which comes together to form something even better for all of our couples. Our styles complement each other, whilst at the same time we'll both be looking at your wedding day with our own four unique creative eyes.
As well as the creative differences, there are lots of practical reasons to have a second photographer snapping away. For instance, ceremony venues can be restrictive either by their layout, or the rules laid down by the person officiating. We wrote a little more about why two’s better than one over on our blog pages, here.
"When it comes to photographing weddings, my favourite photos are the morning preparations and also the couple’s portraits. Portrait time is often the first time a couple as had a few moments away from the hectic fun of their day. I like the cosiness the images have when it's just the two of them, and I enjoy watching couples sharing their 'Just Married' excitement together.
I get a kick out of capturing the connection between a couple. I also enjoy showing those who are camera-shy just how great they can look in a photo simply by being themselves and having a laugh. Most of us aren't keen on photos of ourselves, so when I hand over an image that shows someone how great they actually look, well, there's a lot of job satisfaction rolled into that.
My photography tends to be a little closer as I'm all about capturing expressions and intimate moments. Finding the smaller details and intimate moments on your big day is my job."
Toby
"I’m the secret agent, the ninja, the spy! You won’t know I’m there until I blow it all with my extra-loud laugh.
I like to try to step back, and get a wider shot, from an alternative point of view. I like photos that tell different stories all in one image. Exciting photos with a lot going on, plenty to look at and discover, a bit like a Where's Wally image :-)
I’m always on the lookout for those more unusual shots. I’ll pop up behind your guests for the confetti throwing, and seek out the “naughty table” during your reception. I love the expressiveness of eyes and hands. Photos like the one above. The couple are oblivious to their picture being taken during a beautifully intimate moment. But look at everything else going on: the hands and eyes, the other couples on the dance floor, the not-so-impressed son, and the starbursts from both off-camera flashes."
