A family stroll down to the local park for play and personality filled photos

I believe that keeping things simple on a family photo shoot works really well. Children need little more than a patch or grass and a playground for their imaginations to come up with games and activities that let their personalities shine in a natural and engaged way. For Millie and Evie we walked up to their local park, a place the new well and were comfortable. We kept things simple, just taking along a ball, some bubbles, and a hoop game, then let them choose how they spent their time playing and exploring. Sometimes you don't even need toys, as children will see fun possibilities in almost anything. Millie had crafted a bow and arrow out of some twigs and a piece of wool, which allowed her to venture round the woods playing out her own fantastical story.
When I photograph young children I do my best to put no pressure on them at all as regards to the photography, and concentrate on ensuring they feel seen, heard, and engaged in the photo shoot. Where tolerances and moods allow, we'll sometimes try and get family group shots, but as quickly as simply as possible, so as not to take the little ones away from their relaxed fun and play.
If you'd like photos and memories that capture your child's natural and unique expressions, mannerisms, and character, rather than simply "sit and smile at the camera" allowing for little personality, then get in touch to book a family shoot based on your family rather than just the photography.
