Newborn photo shoot with the family doggos!

Mother with yawning baby during newborn family photo shoots with pet dogs"It was great working with Phil - I use the term working loosely as it didn’t feel like any effort at all, more like a friend popping round for coffee and a chat. Phil has a very relaxed natural style about him and put us completely at ease during the photo shoot. I think the dogs particularly enjoyed the day and even got their own mini shoot. Thanks Phil we all had a great time and was lots of fun. Claire is already talking about a follow-on shoot with Eden when the summer comes and Axel is free from his boots and brace.""Claire and I just had our second child and first son. He was born with a club foot and from one week old has had his right leg in plaster. This make him appear quite grumpy at times but occasional he slips up and gives us a glimpse of mischief. We also have two dogs Lola and Coco. Lola is an escape artist and Coco doesn’t stop barking except when the sun is out as she loves to sit and bake in the sun."

New born babies don’t stay tiny for long. They grow so quickly in those first few weeks and months that if you blink you’ll miss it, and then suddenly you’re chasing a small toddler, running rampant around your house.

Babies are easiest to photograph during their first few weeks. It must be pretty tiring work being born, so if timed right most new born photo sessions allow me to capture them at their tiniest and sleepiest. Just as I was able to with little Axel. There were a few murmurs, and a little looking around taking in the newness of everything, but mostly he was a contented little fellow, happy to let me snap away.

The icing on the cake of this particular photo shoot was getting to also meet, spend time with, and photograph Lola and Coco. I’m a sucker for pets, especially dogs, and the smaller they are the more easily I tend to fall in love with them.

Claire and Stu, thanks for being great hosts and keeping me topped up with tea and biscuits. You have a wonderful little boy, an awesome little addition to your lovely family. Not to mention two extremely cute dogs too!

Enjoy the triple dose of cuteness that is Axel, Lola and Coco.
