St Bartholomew’s church in Penn, Wolverhampton was the setting for Sam and Andy’s spring wedding ceremony last May. It’s a beautiful and historic building with lots of lovely natural light. Even better for us Dignums: it’s two minutes’ walk from our house! The sun was shining for them all day long, which was quite the contrast to their snowy pre-wedding shoot earlier in the year. If you've not already taken a look at their pre-shoot photos, go check out that snow!
Sam got ready in her childhood home, with her parents and bridesmaids. The atmosphere was relaxed and chatty. Whilst they all got ready, another wedding day was unfolding on the TV in the background. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were sharing the same date for their own wedding! Sam assured me during her preparations that she and Andy had set their date first. Harry and Meghan, you copy cats you!
Once everyone was ready they made the short journey to the church, with the bridesmaids and mum in a special wedding day camper van, and Sam with her dad in a vintage Bentley.
At St Bart’s (as we all know it) Andy was waiting at the head of the aisle, and the charismatic Reverend Ben presided over the ceremony. During an emotional exchange of vows, a few happy tears were shed.
Sam and Andy jumped into the wedding car for the long and leisurely drive over to their reception venue; The Park House Hotel. They chose the venue because it’s near their home and they just fell in love with it. It was a elegant reception, which was full of family, friends and laughter.
They had a magician in the afternoon, and full dance floor in the evening.
The magician was a particular favourite of the guests, allowing us to photograph some great reaction shots. Sam and Andy decorated the venue with photos of their pets on the top table, and this made them happy, because they couldn't be with them on the day. Toby and I always love a couple who love their pets!
Sam and Andy’s wedding was such a laugh and so chilled. Here’s their wonderful wedding!
