Hi folks, Phil here for today’s blog post, it’s all about three lovely ladies.
I’ll let you into a little secret, my next birthday is going to be the big four-zero. I’m currently pushing forty, but like many of us there’s part of me that refuses to grow up. I still play computer games and watch cartoons, I constantly wear shorts in inappropriate weather, and I’m quite partial to clothing items that are brightly coloured. Kids seem to have the best choices in clothes stores, it’s just not fair.
All of this is most likely a big reason why my favourite part of being a photographer is family portrait photoshoots. For me, and those I’m photographing, the shoot usually involves a lovely stroll, lots of mucking about and playing in the playground, and if I’m very lucky an ice cream cone at the end of the shoot.
This is pretty much exactly what happened when I met up with three generations of lovely ladies from the Reynolds family last year. I even got the ice cream cone at the end.
We met up at Victoria Park in Stafford. I’d not visited the park before, but I can now report that it has some lovely footpaths along the River Sow. It has a lovely glass house with exotic plants. Most importantly for young and old children alike, it has an amazing play area, and a splash pad!
Our trip started off with feeding the ducks, before a walk around the park, checking out the birds in the aviary, a visit to the glass house, and then venturing around the play area. All of which took place under glorious sunshine, which means you have to eat your ice cream cone quickly before it melts all over your hands.
Here’s a little selection of photos from a splendid day and photoshoot.
