"Just the most fun and friendly photographers, they fit in with our friends and family it was like they were our friends and family! Our photos are so amazing they actually capture emotion and feelings of the day!! Very easy to book and communication throughout was effective and not pushy! Would recommend to anyone and would think of them again for any other occasion we need photographers!"
- Laura and Jason
How does a year go so quickly? Both Phil and I remember so many details from Laura and Jason’s unique wedding day, as if we’d been there taking the pictures last week! It just goes to show what a special and memorable sunny day it was…
Jason and friends met at a great pub, The Swan Hotel in Brewood, just down the road from the church. I spent time with them there as they has just the one pre-ceremony pint, and fixed their buttonholes in place, watched on by the amused Friday regulars.
Laura got ready at home with family and friends during a humour filled and busy bridal prep, spilling out into the back garden to appreciate the good weather and a few moments of calm.
A classic VW camper van was her chosen method of transport to St Mary and St Chad’s in Brewood. It’s a beautiful church dating from medieval times, but thoroughly restored in the Victorian era with those classic red and black earthenware floor tiles. Phil and I were made very welcome, and it was a pleasure to respectfully take pictures there. I was even invited up into the bell-ringers’ gallery at the back of the nave to get some great aerial shots, all while the family dog was watching the ceremony take place from the aisle!
The reception took place in a big field at a nearby farm, where a huge stately marquee had been erected, with loads of lovely natural light, and lots of elegant natural rural decorations. There was plenty of time to sip cocktails and play games in the sun, before the formal meal (Phil and I even had our own place settings!) and some great speeches.
Afternoon turned to evening, with a gorgeous sunset, followed by a great disco inside, and flickering fire pits outdoors. We used our special flash gear to get some atmospheric after-dark portraits, and have fun with our light-painting PixelStick. We were just starting to pack our gear away when Laura’s dad happened to mention that some surprise fireworks had been organised, and were starting in five minutes! We’ve never unpacked so quickly! Fortunately we got set up just in time, and you can see the results, along with lots of other pictures from this amazing wedding day, below.
HAPPY ANNIVERSARY to Laura and Jason, from The Dignums! ❤️
We'd also like to dedicate this blog post to the amazing gentleman that was Jason's grandad Ken Powell. A kind and inspirational man.
